Two things to be aware of. Nasties.

Mozilla no longer checks their extensions for Firefox...

https://www.ghacks.net/2017/10/03/mozilla-changes-review-process-for-firefox-webextensions

Some are not what they seem...

https://www.ghacks.net/2018/08/15/mozilla-recommended-privacy-extension-had-phone-home-feature

Along with that, GitHub is owned, now, by... er... Microsoft!

They're up to their old tricks, already...

The github takeover has been tittered about in Linux circles for a couple of munfs.

Mozilla enabled a system for Firefox recently that automates the previously manual review process. It does not mean that add-ons won't be reviewed manually anymore though.
Time will tell if this is, or is not, a good idea. I've already found one extension that no longer worked as well as it did under older versions of FF.

I would intermittently get a couple of tabs both trying to seize focus at the same time. I'd close one, and it would switch to another and the process would continue. I could not easily determine what the issue was as I could not reliably reproduce it. Eventually I posted a bug report with Mozilla. The very next day, it happened again with only 2 tabs open this time and it gave me a clue, so I disabled the suspect extension and it has not returned. Fortunately it was an extension that was a nuisance if I could not use it, but not a deal breaker. The extension? "Colorful Tabs". I've found an alternative in "Tab Color" which I like even more.

BOT Opera also uses automatic testing, so I don't necessarily see this as a bad thing.
