What's For Lunch Steam Loco Pix

Romania, Feb 2018

You're looking at a fairly small steam loco, and its firebox. And yes in the front of the pix you see several sausages that are the crew's lunch. Obviously a wood burning steam loco (as opposed to coal, or oil-yes, some steam locos burn oil).

There are 2 other pixs [in this series] of this rather rare photog capture of such an event; likely the loco is stopped. No mention in the ID caption what the loco was hauling, but not likely was it a passenger service run.

Steam loco's, aside from the ones in museum/heritage facilities & that are still operational on occasion, are not totally obsolete in the real world.

There were 2 crewmen on this run so unless they opted to share their sausages with the photog, they had a pretty good lunch for themselves.

Its many years ago now but I've cooked and eaten food over a wood fire on a shovel.
