Here's an article about it
and the website is youversion.com (I might have thought it would be .org).

Youversion is a mobile app, marked "The Bible," that lets you get the Bible in any of more than 3 dozen English translations (not to mention other languages). I was interested in downloading a version for my Windows PC, but I realized that I was already able to read from the site with my browser. As far as I can see, it has the limitation that you must be connected to the internet. (I haven't checked if I can copy text for Word Processing and such.)

It has several of my favorite translations--Holman Christian Standard Bible, God's Word to the Nations, New American Standard Bible, English Standard Version, and New International Version. So, you can read from your electronic device and not drag around the paper book.

If I had a smart phone or tablet device, I'd be using it.

You can read about the church that developed it and the background store--it wasn't cheap, but they are giving it away.

What do you think? Did you know of it?

I use lots of online versions of the bible. I'm particularly fond of the ones that take it verse by verse and show you all the different translations of the one verse. As to reading it on my mobile - no thanks. Reading it on my Kindle or if I had a tablet might be something I would do, but unlikely. I prefer news or fiction on the hoof. ;)
