Registery Cleaning !

I just ran a 'freebie' registry scan and it seems I have over 2'000 errors in my registry - whatever that means - and I have not a clue how to solve that without wreaking havoc with everything else !

Apparently these errors include a Key tracer, shared files, and various other phenomena that my security system never warned me about.

What is a 'registry' anyway ?
How do I clean it ?
How often should I do it ?

And how the heck do I get rid of these 2'000 + errors ?

HELP !!!

usually it should ask you whether you want to save current config if so save copy of it. i use ccleaner.

try this, download ccleaner ( top right hand)

run it then click on Registry, click scan for issue, after a while it will show what is wrong then it asks you whether you want to save copy of current reg before cleaning your reg click yes and save it on your my document give it a name then click fix it. it will run and fix those suspected one. if nothing has gone then leave it but if you thin it has then you go back to my document and double click it. it will revert.

the same thing does apply to your freeware

Might be wise telling us what this "Free" cleaner is... Some have been known to do more harm than good...

But yes, as above, CCleaner is good, as is RegScrubXP v3.25, but the latter is no longer available or supported. However it's still available on t'net, IIRC, Majorgeeks still host it...
