The face you may recognize.

Her voice will give you goosebumps!
She's an unknown blues singer from the Green Bay area who has been signed to play Janis Joplin in a movie about the late singer that should start filming sometime this summer. She looks a lot like and sounds a lot like Janis. SO much so it's SCARY!
She played here in Merrill Saturday night. The above shot is one of two I had time to work on. I have a huge photo spread to work on for the paper and that is taking a lot of my time.
Forgot to add this link http://www.myspace.com/annieroseband
to her MySpace profile with four of her original songs on it. There's a link to her website on the profile with videos, including the one that started the process to her being cast in the movie.
Thanks Dot, your gorgeousness.
I'm glad I poked around and waited for one of her video clips to load. She is brilliant! I hope that she does not suffer the same fate as Joplin, though, It amkes me want to break out my Joplin CD.
She was talking to me at the show about using some of my images for the cover of a DVD she is making of her original material.
It remains to be seen how much she is willing to PAY to license the images, however. She doesn't sing for free, nor is she giving the DVD away at shows.
We (Jackie and I) have drawn a clear line in the sand on photo usage. No more freebies!
Fair Enough too.
I have cleaned this thread yet again.
Can we keep the subject to what it is? ergo a discussion and leave the cracks and anger out please?
Dot, I've not seen what you're cleaning - ergo it's working. Thank you, as always!
Here's a better shot of her that shows the resemblence to Janis Joplin better.

Getting a "tongue lashing" from Annie after her show last night in Schofield, Wisconsin.

We took the chance to see her last night at a bigger club that I could shoot at from the band's level. The "stage" area was bigger, the band wasn't crammed together and the lighting was better.
I also had the chance to shoot her wearing Janis Joplin style sunglasses for one song for an Idea I have we're going to run by the movie producers.
I just have to make the image happen now that I have the components.
NOW tell me there isn't a physical resemblance between Annie and the late Janis Joplin (purists ignore the cordless mic):

(This isn't the shot I'm working on. I need to reboot my computer and then spend the next few hours working on it.)
For those with "Too Much Time On Their Hands" (I'm in a Styx mood today for some reason) the best of the best shots from Saturday are here:
And Jackie took the picture of Annie and myself.
Jackie is one of the few people who can take a picture of me and have me come out looking halfway decent.
Must be the exclusive "Love Filter" she uses.
Spent about four hours taking a photo of Annie taken Saturday night to this:

It's about half done.
I'll be interested to see the end result, Jamie, at this stage, I'm thinking that that photo is a pretty "amateur" attempt at "improvement".
I'm sure that you have an agenda here and that, as this is the unfinished product....well, you get the idea. I'ts like a panel beater rubbing back
the paint before he applied the finish, it looks very ordinary until the Job is done.
I do see the likeness, though, and I hadn't noticed the cordless mike, only 'cause they are so common, they are now unremarkable.
