Was taken my last night in the Army in Sept. 1982.
That's Tammy Wynette singing "Stand By Your Man" to me onstage.
I was shooting the show -- which was on Ft. Campbell, KY -- for the post newspaper, and she needed a soldier to sing the song to and there I was, in front of the stage taking pictures. She pointed at me, her manager drug me up there, and the rest is history.
The photo was taken by a photographer from the Clarksville, TN daily newspaper and ran on the front page of the day I mustered out of the service.
Found it on an archive CD of images from my old computer I found while coding my photo CDs for my new filing system.
Them was the good ole days.
Nice memories, now to test your mettle, which would you rather have been, the man who took the picture.....
or the man in the picture?
Half your luck Jamie!
Jamie, on the whole, would you rather be the man you were then, or the man you are now?
I know which version of myself I would choose.
I thought you might prefer your present self, Redwolf, and I hoped you would feel some measure of satisfaction in preferring the
version current version.
I, too, prefer my present self (though I do miss some of the powers of youth. I loved when I could learn one textbook of material in a day to report to the advanced study history class, or when I could do a semester's worth of learning in a single week). I have stayed faithful to the Lord through some hard times, and He has brought me closer to the finish of the race--not that I know how long it might be for me.
Maturity and wisdom?
Regards the Bear
Just wish I didn't have the aches, pains and stiffness that comes with the "maturity and wisdom."
