How come large threads, like the primal scream and the late night club, show an exaggerated number of pages on the thread list?
If you click on the last page, all you get is a blank reply form and then you have to go back and back and back until you get to the real last page.
This seems to have been a recent development but can anyone explain why this should happen and even better, fix it?
Edit the late night club says it has 205 pages but in reality only has 146
I'd like to have a stab at answering this if I may?
The Primal Scream thread was started a few years back and has been hugely popular but has been pruned down to what I currently see as 8 pages because otherwise it would simply be too big. What looks like the first post there isn't.
I assume the same thing has happened to the late night club, there have been 205 pages of posting buthere are only 146 available to view.
But why do you get nothing if you click on the "last page" link?
I don't get the problem on the Late Night thread, if I I click the last page, I go straight to it...
However, on the Primal Scream, I get the same problem you mention. It seems that there are, in reality, only two pages of that thread now...?
It *might* have something to do with how many posts each user has set in the control panel to view each thread...?
But I agree, something seems amiss somewhere...!
Oh, I will investigate - and fix the threads count.
I can't even find the Primal thread now...?
Just noticed, the front page seems odd too....?
See attached pic...
And everything is back to front. Old posts from 1970 ? at the top of the list

I am almost there - can a couple of our loverly members have a poke around and see if things are back to normal (ish)
Page count back to normal on Today's Posts
Hmm, never mind, found it now I think... Though severly more pruned than I'd expected.
I click on the last post and all is good
I think you're just seeing things.
Where the hell is janet?
Are there missing posts in this or has someone resurrected a very old thread?
I got quite excited till I saw the dates...
