I have been getting lots of text messages with picture or internet attachments on my new cell phone. I have not signed up for picture or internet
service, so i could not view the attachments even if I wished, but I don't even want the texts from these people I don't know. They must have been
attached to my new cell's phone number when another person was using it. (Or, is there another way to "inherit" such things?)
Every time I open one, it deducts from the value on my account (which is pay-by-the-minute and pay-by-the-text). So, I am trying to delete dozens every day without opening them.
What would you suggest I do to stop these? I suppose I could hit "reply" and send a message to each one, but it would take a lot of repeat effort, and it would take some effort for each to remove me from their list. If I reply to them, and give my number (I can't tell them what name they are thinking is associated with the number, of course), will others be able to see the number on the Facebook page? Or is that private?
No idea scholar as I don't pay to receive texts. Just make sure you don't sign up for Cat Facts...
How long have you had the number? I'd be pushing my supplier for a change if it persists. There is most likely a setting within your phone that will block numbers not in your phonebook.
Resistance is FUtile.
