Does anyone know how to stop my PC going into sleep mode when I am using it, its annoying when you are reading a long article and it goes into sleep mode, I am on Windows 7
Control panel > Hardware & sound > Power options > Edit Plan setting @ change when the computer sleeps > select your preferences or set at never > save changes
I use a program called Don't Sleep.
Mine is on Windows XP, but here is the page to download a version that works with Windows 7.
I used to have a problem, that my computer would freeze up with the screensaver (wallpaper) on. Don't Sleep solved my problem for me.
I'm not knocking the other solution, I'm just sharing mine. You can choose it if you like.
Thanks, thats done the trick.....
sorry, still got the peoblem
Scroll down to and click on "How can I prevent my computer from automatically sleeping or hibernating?".
Open Power Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking "System and Security", and then clicking "Power Options".
On the "Select a power plan" page, click "Change plan settings" next to the selected plan.
On the "Change settings" for the plan page, click "Change advanced power settings".
On the "Advanced settings" tab, double-click "Sleep", double-click "Sleep after", and then do one of the following:
If you're using a laptop, click "On battery" or "Plugged in" (or both), click the arrow, and then click "Never".
If you're using a desktop computer, click "Setting", click the arrow, and then click "Never".
