He looks like something made by a prop department for a horror movie, e.g. Pet Semetary!
The article says the contest is to focus on the inner beauty of pets, which can be wonderful for a family without regard to appearance.
I wonder if such extremely horrific-looking dogs might need extra care and protection.
Would they be scary to children who had not spent time with them?
On another extreme, I have read of cosmetic surgery for pets. Plastic surgery for real medical improvement, I can see--but, a tummy-tuck or face-lift for your dog or cat? I don't think so!
