My friend who has been veggie for more than a decade gets very annoyed at stories like this. It is poor diet rather than being veggie that causes the protein deficiency. Beans (kidney beans, chickpeas, lentils, etc.), nuts, soy, and low-fat dairy products produce enough protein for blood. Taking fat filled McDonalds cooked in lard is hardly healthy.
