Topic Review

Heard that this morning.

Surprised me to hear that the main reason was that the temperature rise in the sea simply makes the water expand. Rather than the melting icecaps.

The Bloke in charge was asking western nations to help with their sea defences. Since the highest point on the island is only 4 feet above sea level, it sounds like it might take a lot of defending.

And, to add "salt" to the wound, the sea water is perculating through the coral base of the island and spouting up inland poisoning the soil with salt.

Al Gore, all else is forgiven.

Country disappearing due to rising sea levels
Tuvalu in the South Pacific is threatened by the higher sea-levels, and some of the islands have already gone.

Scary, eh.
