In short.

No I don't.

We just repeated what was said by the registrar. It all went by very quickly.

My daughter and her husband both went to a denominational school but chose to have a Humanist ceremony when they got married last week.

I have never gone to this type of wedding but apart from the basic "will you?" questions before the celebrant the vows were entirely personal to the couple themselves. The guests still make a promise to try and help the couple through any future problems, which is nice.

The vows were completed by a Bertrand Russell reading which I hadn't known beforehand.

Today I marry my best friend:
The one I have laughed and cried with,
The one I have learned from and shared with,
The one I have chosen to support, encourage and give myself to,
Through all the days, given to us to share,
Today I marry the one I love.

Do you remember your vows?
