Thanks John but I know its a windows installer problem just not sure how to fix it....

Just found an obscure cure-I had two versions of Microsoft NET- V1 & V2. Someone else had a similiar issue-deleted 1 and it cured it. I've just done the same and it is now working finesmokin:

I am trying to install Office 2003 student and teacher edition onto a lap top (XP pro svs pk 2)

I keep getting the error "msiexec.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Searched through loads of stuff but am stumpedconfused2

Any ideas please


ps also getting a Run a DLL as an app error when trying to open Add or Remove programs in control panel.
