Topic Review

The value of "pets" has be truly underrated for many years. Dogs are being trained to assist with all kinds of disabilities these days. I saw an article on TV about a dog trained to ensure that an autistic "IIRC" child remained safe and "on task". I've known blind people with seeing eye dogs and, when they are not "working", per se, they are treated as pets. Of course, if they are on the job, you don't stop and pat, or make a fuss of them, but, when they are "resting" they like a game, just like any other pet.

Working dogs, by nature, are more than pets. More like partners.

In the absence of a working animals section, it seems as good as any.

I don't know if it is proper to refer to service dogs as pets (as in The Petshop), but this seemed to be the best place for the post.
