Colin posted:alt.computer.drivers.wanted that you can get it to work in XP by doing the following:

WARNING: Messing with the Registry on your machine can render the machine from booting succesfully again so make a backup of your registry and only try it if you are confident you can repair any possible problem.

Start menu run program "Regedit.exe".
in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
rename the key "ProductName" from "Microsoft Windows XP" to "Microsoft Windows 2000".
Install the Plustek driver for Windows 2000. (above)
Undo the changes in the Registry, when you have finished the scanner driver installation.
