Really bad Winter Olympics reporting

Here.

NBC reportedly announced Veath as winner of the gold medal for the women's Super-G while 25 people had not yet performed in the competition, and then were surprised when Ledecka, new to the event, beat her. They had announced the wrong winner5 times!shocked_yellowshocked_yellowshocked_yellowshocked_yellowshocked_yellow

The article also relates how poorly NBC handled it, after the real winner had come in at a faster time.

Do you know how that term "Fake News" upsets those of us working our butts off in small towns to cover local government, cops, courts and sports?

Most of us would take that waggyfinger and jam it where the sun doesn't shine.

I could understand where you could be offended at the "fake news" title if it were levelled at you, or your industry as a whole. However, in many cases, these stories are inaccurate and easily verifiable as such. If published as "news" then, surely, it is "fake news".
