No Animals Were Harmed In The Making Of This Sculpture

Well maybe 'no animals were harmed in the making of this sculpture', but maybe their egos were dealt a blow to see the fruits of their labor wind up as some trade show ornament.

The article doesn't say how much MILK it took to make a half-ton of butter, but I bet it was a lot (and NO the article doesn't say what they planned to do with this after the show is over--maybe it's for the All You Can Eat Pancake Festival (with REAL maple syrup)-Hmm!

"This Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, photo provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture shows a sculpture carved from a half-ton of butter in preparation for the 102nd Pennsylvania Farm Show, scheduled from Saturday, Jan. 6, through Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg, Pa. The sculpture unveiled Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, sponsored by the American Dairy Association North East (ADANE), reflects the show's theme this year, "Strength in our Diversity," by depicting a dairy cow; a dairy farmer, second from left; an agronomist who helps produce corn to feed dairy cows, left; a milk processor, second from right; and a consumer, right, carrying agriculture products from Pennsylvania. (Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture via AP)"

Time lapse uTube vid of this being constructed at

You would not believe how many hits there are on uTube for a "butter sculpture" search to include DIY ones--and there are agricultural fairs in the USA that have booths for attendees to try their hand at one.

Amazing! What's that poem about a little bit of butter for my bread?
