Worried about a conspiracy theorist

I have someone I am quite fond of online as he once did me a massive favour and composed some music for the centenary of the start of WWI.

Lately he is posting a lot on social media about various conspiracies but his latest one is very worrisome. He keeps going on about the Mandela effect and how the words in all KJV bibles have been changed.

So scholar et al, have your bibles changed?

What can I say to reassure him?

I had not known the term "Mandela effect" until you mentioned it. One or two sites I have just checked say it has to do with examples of people remembering something (or perhaps "misremembering" would be more accurate) differently than evidence supports it to have actually been.

Here is a site that gives some examples.
I found number six on the list of interest because I remember "Looney Tunes," not Looney Toons, as the writer says of most people. Looney Tunes was a word-by-word parallel to the Walt Disney cartoons, Silly Symphonies. Warner Brothers also used another parallel phrase, Merry Melodies, for its cartoons.

About the King James Version, specifically

The King James Version has undergone a few changes.

I am aware that the spelling of KJV words has been updated. I remember KJV Bibles in my youth that had the spelling "shew" for the word spelled "show" in modern English. Some KJV Bibles now printed have a note in them to the effect that they follow the spelling of the Oxford Edition of the KJV Bible (or, they might say "Authorized Version"--I don't recall for sure).

I do not have at hand editions from one, two, or three centuries ago which I could use to verify specific, individual words.

I would not be surprised or alarmed if there are some differences in spelling based on conformity to American usuage, either (e.g. color or colour are identical in meaning).
