some observations

--The fellow related that he was responding to the pastor's sermon. Well done for him, well done for the pastor. It's good to see Christian faith in action (as "pastor" is most commonly used of Christian faith leaders).
--Well done, NBC, for not editing out the mention of the pastor's sermon. Many times, such references are removed. (Were there more direct references to the Christian faith that were edited out, I wonder?)
--I wonder, is a kindergarten class the best choice? It might be that such kids, knowing the future that will crown their studies, will be motivated to study harder. On the other hand, some of the kids may follow paths in life that result in them not being good candidates for college when they reach the appropriate age. I certainly know of people in whom alcoholism and drug use led to wasting college grants and scholarships. Here's hoping everyone in the class makes good use of the opportunity.
--I am a little sad to see the millionaire is a lawyer. When do lawyers ever create wealth? Don't their fees always come from work as parasites from the wealth of others, often from misfortune? When they put together deals, or sue others, or defend against lawsuits or against criminal prosecutions, don't they always take their cut from someone else's wealth, without creating any?

Scholar - I am shocked that you would give such a negative response to an act of kindness and generosity, Christian or otherwise.

I sincerely hope you are never in need of a lawyer.
