How they work? You clamp onto a car battery, and then you can plug in any electrical gadget made to run from plugging into a car cigarette lighter.

If you have a fully charged battery, you don't need the car at arm's length, provided you don't drain all the power.

Such a device would be attractive to someone who had one or several devices made to plug into a car e.g. some refrigerators/coolers, some food warming devices, some seat warmers/vibration devices (I have one in my car).

The battery clamps could even plug onto a live 12 volt DC source, to the effect of offering the cig-type receptacle to plug into.
