I had a problem with the disk and fan not stopping on shutdown after one update. I had to sort it out in the BIOS.

The only problem I ever have with the cumulative updates is other people's computers. They suddenly find that their data limit has been reached and can't work out why. Easy fix, of course, but..... with today's mobile society, it might be worth M$, and other manufacturers, for that fact, warning people before the update starts. e.g. a pop up saying that, "an update of so much data is scheduled, are you sure?" with an option of turning off the warnings for those of us whom it does not affect.
