Converting from pdf to another format

My Adobe pdf reader has an option to convert a pdf file to an MS Word-type file online (docx, doc, or rtf).

I haven't tried it yet. Does anyone have experience with this?

Does a program residing elsewhere convert the file, and send it back to me?

background of request

I am unhappy with the 2011 update of the New International Version in two ways.
1- I don't like the inconvenience of two versions of the Version, which means that people reading the NIV will not be reading the same words on a certain number of verses.
2 - In some cases, the changes are not as good as the former wording, with respect to faithfulness to the original meaning.

The online home of the NIV only gives access to the 2011 update, and the Bible sites I usually use do the same.

But, I found a site that made a download of the earlier NIV available. I think it was giving it away from before the update, and the authorities have not shut it down.

The download was pdf. I would like to be able to copy from it into rtf and doc documents, so I think I want to make a converted copy of the whole thing.

I am running WinXP.

The pdf is 1751 pages long.

Oh, joy! The site from which I downloaded my NIV also has a free Urdu version of the Bible.:o

;) I joke. Urdu is a language I haven't studied.

As I look at the site more, it appears I may have downloaded the 2005 TNIV, which is not the earlier version, but the verses I checked were better than the 2011 wordings.

I'll see if I can do better. . . .
