Convenience shop

Tonight someone did me an act of kindness!

Tonight I was in the local Convenience Shop getting a few bits of shopping, and although I don't drink I thought to buy a couple of bottles of Newcastle Brown ale to make shandies with.

Several years ago this shop was bought by a family Sheiks and although I'm always polite when I go there I have problems because of their language.
Having asked for the beer Ranjihed told me that they didn't have any. His brother, Makham who was behind the counter asked what it was I wanted then said no problem and went on his cell phone. He told me to go home and that he would bring me two bottles of beer within 15 mins.

Later on, the doorbell rang and I opened the door find Makham with my two bottles of beer. Apparently when I was in the shop he'd rang his wife who was driving home and asked her to stop off at an Off-License and pick up the beer for me, he then walked around with bottles.

A really kind gesture.

You don't get service like that at Asda.

Best Regards the Bear

That is service. And one that many stores would do well to emulate. Too often we are quick to advertise bad service, but forget to publish abroad good service. Personally, I always prefer to tell people about good service than the bad experiences.

I use twitter to highlight, in writing, good service so that the employee and their bosses have a permanent record of a good day.
