The difference between

Libre Office and Open Office. I've used both and currently find little difference between them, but the future, for me, is leaning towards Libre Office. M$ Office still has a couple of Killer features that have me trying desperately to overcome Access being the major one. Base just does not cut it there.

For purely "Doc" stuff, I find AbiWord to be pretty good.

The dilbert who assembled this computer for Ruby has Libre Office 4.1 on it. I have Open Office on a CD, and have been considering installing it.
