From last year

Old School

He moves to the passenger side and opens the door for his wife

putting his hand between her head and the roof, just in case.

A gentleman of the old school, still treating her as the delicate flower

she once was.

He didnít see her steely determination in the labour ward as she pushed on command

all the while trying to maintain decorum.

He repaired to the pub and passed round cigars while she passed out with exhaustion.

He worked in something important nine to five while she played little woman at home

and it worked for them.

He still looks at her with adoration, now she finally

has him to herself.

Their grey heads turn in unison as he drives away from the kerb

towards their destination.

A different time, I wonder what "old school" will look like in another 100 years.
