Kilmarnock - off pitch drama

The fixture between Kilmarnock and Hibs was called off during the second half as a fan became unwell and paramedics had to be called. Sadly the life-long Killie fan died at Crosshouse hospital later that evening. This is the third time it has happened at Kilmarnock games within 12 months.

We're pushing here for defibrillators to be at every sports venue as time can often be critical in moments like these.

The players and fans acquitted themselves well and apparently gave the man a round of applause to show their support.

The stands look empty in the photo because those with children had left so they avoided the trauma of it all.

I always said too much sport was not good for you!

Seriously though, although it was a sad occurrence, it does show that, regardless of rivalry on the field, the opposition was there to back you up when needed. I feel sorry for his family, I trust that, at least they are comforted in that the man was doing something he loved.

Defibrillators are being pushed for, by the FA, now, after the Muamba thing.

Dunno if they're getting many, though.
