U.S. Congress seeks to exempt itself from Obamacare because of fear from thousands of dollars of additional personal cost

Here is an article about it.

If you're a Congressman or aide who is not rich, the thousands of dollars of extra cost you will have to pay for the health insurance which the law mandates will hit you hard in the wallet. The harm is severe enough, that Congressmen are afraid many on their staffs will feel compelled to leave to earn better money in the private sector, to be able to cover the required insurance.

So, Congress is quietly trying to change the law, so that they will not have to suffer the same as everyone else on whom they have inflicted this unpopular, severely flawed legislation.

It's sad, that the rest of us can't choose to exempt ourselves, as the Congressmen are planning to do.:(

How stupid could the crafters of the law be? Insurance does not reduce health care costs, it ADDS to health care costs, because everyone, together, must pay for all the health care, PLUS the cost of paying for all the insurance industry. Making the additional insurance costs mandatory doesn't reduce health care costs, it increases them.

With that kind of thinking, perhaps the government will just pass a law declaring that everyone must become rich.

The fact that Congress continues to set themselves apart from regular Americans, and not do the will of the majority of people or do more than oppose the democrat's efforts to move the economy along WILL lead to a blood bath at the polls next year.

Mark my words.

As a matter of historical fact: most Americans did not want Obamacare, and voted in the midterm election for more legislators to oppose it. The Democrats who saw their numbers would be fewer in the next session met to hurry through the legislation before the newcomers who would vote the will of the people would be seated.

One problem with Obamacare, that I have never seen addressed: the Constitution says that all tax legislation must originate in the House of Representatives (not the Senate), but Obamacare originated in the Senate.

This is particularly significant in light of the fact that the Supreme Court ruled that the only way they saw authority for the Obamacare legislation was as tax legislation.
