World Hijab Day

Apparently the 1st of February was World Hijab Day where everyone was encouraged to wear Hijab to experience first hand the discrimination that overt religious symbolism can engender.

I've already worn hijab when I entered a shrine in the mountains and when in the mosque in Washington DC so as it had a purpose there was no discrimination involved.

Do you think that days like this are a good idea?

No! The actions of the hijab wearing crowd speak more for their religion than any world hijab wearing day. If they truly want understanding and respect, they would certainly treat their own with much more respect than currently happens, not to mention the world at large. Maybe we could also have a world habit wearing day.......oh! Not much discrimination against nuns, I wonder why?
