Mitt Romney wins first Presidential candidate debate

Here is an article about his win, which mentions he got a bump up in possing.

President Obama, in his campaigning, has been speaking against the proverbial straw man--he misrepresents Romney's positions and ridicules his fake picture of Romney and the Republicans.

But, in their first debate, his false picture did not go unchallenged. Romney set forth his own positions correctly when Obama found faults that were not real.

President Obama certainly had a hard job of selling his economic policies as good for the country, when they have actually hurt the economy so badly.

President Obama spoke against tax breaks for companies which move jobs to other countries, such as China. Romney, who is well-experienced in business, challenged him as to there being any such tax breaks.

I found Romney particulary compelling as he spoke of how so many small businesses would be harmed by Obama's proposed tax increases, and how that harm would cost over 700,000 jobs. Romney's plan is to establish conditions that will promote economic growth, and tax revenues will increase as more people are working, and paying income taxes on their earnings.

The Rasmussen Poll has Romney pulling ahead after the side-by-side comparison (but by such a small margin that the race is virtually neck-and-neck). However, the key to winning the election is winning enough votes state-by-state in the Electoral College. How many states will go for Obama, and how many will go for Romney?

This focus group had most of its members opine that Romney had won. Of particular note, a very high percentage of independent voters thought Romney carried the day.

:jester) :jester) :jester)

The host of this cable TV show, who supports Obama so fervantly that he donated $1 million to Obama's campaign, says that in the debate, it appeared that Obama had taken his million and spent it all on weed (marijuana).
