Faulty Hard Drive??

I have a laptop's hard drive that I have managed to format when I connected it to my PC as an external hard drive but when its in my laptop and tried to install windows it goes half way than stops, its not the laptop it works fine with other hard drive I have tried windows to repair it but that didnít seem to work, so my question is Which software can I use to repair sectors on a hard drive?

Don't use quick format, use the normal format and it will map out any bad sectors. This is the key difference between the two.

Alternatively use chkdsk /f
