I visited a lady who has been in the hospital for 18 days. During my visit, we enjoyed a funny memory of a time we spent together at a Thanksgiving
dinner with her husband, who passed away some years ago.
I visited another lady who is crippled from a vehicle accident. She needs someone with her, for her to go outdoors in her electric wheelchair. I
accompanied her, gave her a few cigarettes, and lit two for her. She gave me a kiss good-bye before I left! She has been at the hospital for a month
and a half.
That lady has no income and no insurance. I telephoned the parish nurse from the church I attend, who is going to help her apply for Social Security
Disability (income for disabled people). The lady has no connection with that church, but we do things for anyone who crosses our path.
I provided an alcoholic a ride to a treatment seassion, and then picked her up to return her to her home.
