Problem with USB stick

I have a Kingston DataTraveler Vault Privacy stick.

It works on my companys lap top and on a personal laptop but will not start on my home pc.

All are running Windows xp.

Because it is encrypted the software should start and ask for a password but it just won't do it on my home pc.

It shows as a cd drive and a removable disk (letters k & l). On the other laptops it shows as DTVP (which is the software (E) and removable disk (F).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

You say that it is encrypted, does your home PC have the appropriate encryption program loaded? It may not recognise it if it is encrypted using a specialty program. Sort of like trying to load a PDF document into Word without the necessary add-in.

Does your PC read other USB storage devices?

The encryption program is on the USB and it works on another laptop.

Just tried another USB stick in the PC and it works fine.
