Might be more of a "discussion" thread
but I can move it if it turns into that.
An area of Australia currently has a council dominated by "bible-belt" councillors. Brothels are both legal and regulated in Australia but this
Sydney area council wants to ban prostitution and brothels.
What thinkest thou?

I didn't know Australia had a Bible Belt.
Yahweh prohibits prostitution, and I trust His judgement. The Old Testament includes laws which make a great deal of sense in view of modern
knowledge, even though our modern understanding was not known by the Israelites at the time. Some examples--Israelites were forbidden to eat pork.
This was a wise precaution, insofar as trichinosis can come from eating pork which has not been cooked at high enough temperatures for a long enough
period of time. Israelite soldiers were required to bury their poop, which is a good idea in light of the diseases which can run wild without
sanitary precautions.
Whatever His reasons, I trust that Yahweh knows best.

Prostitutes are a sad fact of life and will be as long as there are customers - male or female - willing to pay for their services. Surely it is
better and safer for all concerned that they ply their trade in regulated environs rather than in dirty back alleys ?
