How NOT to spend U.S. stimulus money--to creat 2000 jobs IN CHINA

Here. $450,000,000 of US money would go toward wind turbines to be manufactured in China--2000 jobs--while an American wind turbine factory in Pennsylvania's workers are laid off.

This article says there would be 300 American jobs. Actually, there would be a few hundred temporary construction jobs (the Americans get to install the machinery which the Chinese make), and then 30 permanent jobs would be created for those who would run the electrical facility.

Thousands of Chinese work, and thirty Americans get lasting jobs. Does this make sense to you?

Senator Schumer, who is complaining about this, is a Democrat. He was stupid enough to vote for the bill with this flaw, and now he complains about his own party's legislation. Well, at least he's speaking up now (even though it may be too late).

Brits and Scots--would your country vote to spend hundreds of millions of pounds to support thousands of Chinese jobs, for the sake of dozens of domestic jobs?

You mistake us for a democracy where we get a chance to vote on issues.

The gov here introduced a car scrapage scheme which benefited motor manufactures, the vast majority of which are not in the UK. The germans were actually quite open in saying thank you for the surge in sales keeping their motor trade in business.

I would have better said, "Would you favor" doing that, or perhaps "Would you vote for MPs who would" do that.

Actually, the U.S. is less democratic than it used to be. The present executive branch has done some things by executive order without any supporting legislation.

I have heard that the Kingdom of Muganda has a Volunteer Parliament. Citizens, serving without pay? That might be a good idea. :D
