I've taken the Census Worker test

I made my application and took the test this morning. The test was more difficult than I expected, but I think I got every question right. (But, I do not have 100% confidence. The test is timed, and I barely had enough time to finish.)

The person giving the test said workers will continue to be recruited until they have a target number of workers. They presently have testing scheduled into February.

I may phone to ask for my test results after 72 hours. If I do not have a perfect score, I could take it again. But, since I did not memorize my answers, I do not know for sure if I would do better--it's not as if they point out your mistakes, they just report the raw score. I might take it again and make every answer the same.

Or, for all I know, there may be more than one version of the test.

I was told military veterans get preference in hiring (I am not a vet).

I was also told that the Census Bureau prefers to have workers do their home area. Perhaps Delanti can tell me if this means I have no likelihood of getting work in the city (about ten miles from home), and would only be considered for work in my own town. The city is much larger than my town, so there would be many more homes to visit.

The lady giving the test said that the work would last from two to ten weeks. That is not as long as I had hoped, but ten weeks of full-time work would earn more than all the employment I had last year.:D

Delanti, do you know how long before I will know if I am hired? Do you know when the training will begin for those hired?

The tested group was told there will be four days of paid training for those who are hired.:D

I will be grateful for any prayers.:)

My wife and I both took the test last year and passed but we never heard off them since . One guy who took the test with us got a job with them about a month ago . So maybe there is still time . :)

Practice - looks quite straightforward. Was the real one more difficult?
