Mozilla Firefox Backup

A trap for the unwary. I've just reloaded my box as I was getting some annoying errors (BSODs) that finally made me bite the bullet. I re-installed Firefox and Thunderbird. I then ran MozBackup to restore my saved profiles. It worked fine with Thunderbird but FF just would not let me select a profile to restore! I had restored the profile on my second box using exactly the same image and copy of MozBackup over the network, so I knew that both were ok.

I then thought that I'd make a backup of the working FF and transfer it back. Still no joy! Here's the rub!

To restore a profile to a newly installed copy of Firefox, and, I suspect, Thunderbird, too as I think I did open that when it loaded/ You must first open and close the program at least once! Why, I don't know, but it let me restore the profile once I'd done that. Go Figure!

That'd work, MozBackup does make it easier as it remembers every add in and setting for Firefox, SeaMonkey and Thunderbird.
