Cheap and Nasty Tricks.

In light of a comment about rejuvenating printer ribbons in another thread, I thought I'd start this. What cheap and nasty tricks have you seen over the years to gain maximum benefit from something that most would throw away.

I may need to move this to general chat, but the topic was prompted by a computer related discussion.

My contribution. My Brother-in-law used to re-use the old 1" data storage tapes as audio tapes. He made up a gadjet using a but of cork and three razor blades and would run this data tape over it an onto four reel-reel tape spools. to create 1/4" tapes that he could then use.

They apparently work, Quaver. A friend used to have trouble with birds trying to fly through her rather large, and unopenable, window. Result, stunned bird and almost broken pane of glass on many occasions. Hung some CDs up some weeks back and the problem seems to be solved. It's still early days to say for certain that it works but it sure looks promising.
