A REAL high school musical

Only in a REAL high school musical, set in the late 1980s, will you find the male lead in a dream sequence where he is Luke Skywalker having a lightsaber battle with Yoda while another character sings "The Theme From The Greatest American Hero."

Then again, the musical is called "Back to the 80's" and features pop songs from that decade.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, you gotta love small town America!

I used to love High School musicals. We were a little more traditional, though, Gilbert and Sullivan anyone.

I do love any school show because I know just how much work goes into even the most apparently amaturish production.

Unfortunately I can't reproduce any photos of the students here due to LA policy but our last one was a musical based on all the old Queen hits and there was a huge staircase which went back and forwards across the stage and various other special effects - all opportunities for things to go wrong.

This photos is of the staircase in the professional production but when we put on a musical we hire the props etc so that they look very similar to the real thing - just for a smaller stage, which we are lucky to have.
