Vista Strikes again!
I've been trying to recover a friend's PC which has XP on it. As most of the peripherals need drivers, including the network card, I downloaded them
on my box which currently has Vista loaded (testing). As I can't find my USB key I thought, ok I'll use a DVD-RW. All went swimmingly, until I
plugged it into the XP box. It saw the files that I had loaded onto the DVD yesterday but refuses to acknowledge that I have even added anything!
[Thinks] Maybe I didn't allow my PC time to finish the burn.[/thinks] Plugged it into my Linux box (yep got one working this morning) and the files
are all there! Plug it back into XP and try to copy the entire disk using imgburn and I get the pop up "Windoze doesn't support this format!" How
doesn't it support a DVD RW format when it can still read the stuff I'd written to the same DVD RW yesterday!!!!!? Now I am back to formatting the
DVD in the XP box and, hopefully copying across from the Vista box w/o having to re-load XP on my main box again! (It isn't that bad really (My main
box has the OS disks on drive caddies)
