Perigee moon

December 12 was the perigee moon. I've read this moon is the closest it has been in 15 years.

http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2008/09dec_fullmoon.htm

That site illustrates the visual difference in size between perigee (close approach) and apogee (greatest distance in orbit).

I wish I'd posted this earlier--it is now morning for the Brits. However, take a look tonight--there won't be THAT much difference.:D

Are you so perceptive that you just noticed it looked especially large, Kitten? Or did someone tell you about it first?:)
