Bethlehem, Bethlehem.

I also wrote music for this one - and have had the pleasure of hearing it sung by a choir in York Minster !

BETHLEHEM, BETHLEHEM.

Bethlehem, Bethlehem, let your bells ring,
hear how the shepherds and angels all sing,
come to the manger – gives thanks for the child,
born of the Virgin, so gentle and mild.
Frankincense, gold, and myrrh, let the kings bring,
and let all the sweet bells of Bethlehem ring.

Bethlehem, Bethlehem, throw your gates wide –
you hold our hopes for the future inside,
let all his peace and love flow through the world,
his is the coming the Prophets foretold.
This is the child who was born to be king,
so let all the sweet bells of Bethlehem ring.

Bethlehem, Bethlehem, yours is the star
bright above, as a sign, shining afar.
Spreading the light of his love to the earth,
glad’ning our hearts with the news of his birth.
Merrily in his praise, let us all sing,
and let all the sweet bells of Bethlehem ring.

Multi talented eh? If its of you usual standard it will sing beautifully, it would be nice to hear. You must have been so proud when you heard it sung.
