Laptop

I am considering buying a new lap top.

What should I be looking for?

It would mainly be used when travelling - so weight is a real consideration. (I have a rapidly aging Acer Travelmate that has served me well...).

I don't play high end games - I don't need a fantastic audio or visuals.

Mainly, I need something that will run the full Office suite, and that I can use for email, MSN, etc.

I'm not necessarily looking for recommendations as to particular machines, but rather the sorts of things I should be looking for.

Suggestions, please?

Something with a long battery power. I have one that only lasts an hour and it is no good for journeys.

Nodding - that's an issue but as most of the time I travel on trains and most of them (the modern ones, anyway) have power supplies, it's not as important for me as it used to be!

The Acer actually came with a spare battery - one longer life than the other...

(Hmmm. Maybe what I really need to do is see what's new with Acers!).
