If you had an abscess..

Would you burst it with a sharp object..ie: knife?

Basically, what I'm saying is that an abscess on the gum is filled up with puss, so sticking a sharp object into it, whether a pin, a needle, a knife (as long as it's sterilised) is better than letting it get out of control shocked_yellow

It's actually better to go to a dentist.

I know it's better to see a Dentist, just like it's better to see a Doctor if you have a health problem, but if you have an abscess on the side of your gum and it's getting larger by the day, then releasing the puss yourself is quite easy and quite quick.

The reason I brought this up, is because I know someone who does this often :o and it just solves the problem until it re-heals up and then starts to fill with puss again and then he bursts it again and then again...

By doing that, it can save having a Route Canal treatment which is only has a 40% success rate, as continued bursting of an abscess has a better success rate and free too.

I'm also talking about any lump which may appear on your body which is some sort of abscess.

I've seen vets performing it on a horse once - bursting an abscess.
