The Rapture

I'm reading a novel atm where the sub plot is centred around a character's belief in The Rapture.

The timing of The Rapture is a matter of some debate -
The first viewpoint is that it will take place sometime prior (pre-trib) to the Tribulation. The second is that it will take place mid-way (mid-trib) through the Tribulation. The third is that it will take place after (post-trib) the Tribulation, when Christ comes to earth to establish His kingdom, the Kingdom of God, taking over rulership of the world for 1,000 years. (see Millennialism). A fourth view has recently developed, called the Pre-Wrath view.

The character believes that we need to use the world's resources as selfishly as possible in order to speed up The Rapture.

My church hasn't gone in to this very much in any sermon I've been at.

What does your church teach about The Rapture, assuming it teaches anything?

Ah, but it's not my church teaching which is why I asked the question. I wouldn't have even been thinking about it if it hadn't been described in the novel.
