St George's Day



For a celebration of St George's Day yesterday Verity Sharp introduced a selection of English music, both traditional and modern (Chris Wood's contribution Listening to the River being especially good I thought.) in Late Junction last night.

I didn't know there was so much of it about. Specially in Catalonia where for some reason its associated with buying books.

But they read a long list of countries where they celebrate St Georges Day. Not sure if England really counts as one of them.
