Question about RAM

A friend needs RAM in her computer. The specs for it says it needs PC133 SDRAM, but there are several kinds of SDRAM. Hers is single sided and has 8 chips on the front..

My question is, is there more than 1 kind of SDRAM that is 1 sided with 8 chips on the front? I was looking online so I could send her a link to get the right kind to order but want to make sure it's the correct RAM that will work in her computer.. It's an older Gateway and it's fussy about RAM.

Best thing to do, if she's even remotely "Screwdrivers", is to look at the RAM that she has.

If she's not, you can use a program like SiW to tell you what RAM she has.

It's free! :D

I'm not sure, but I seem to remember that Crucial have a RAM detector on their site.

That may be rubbish, though. I'll go look.
