Painter X crashes system

I can't think of another instance where a single software program crashes the entire computer system......Corel Painter X crashes every time I try to save a file regardless of size or it seems anything else.

I run an Asus board with P4 3G Ram and XFX Video card with 512Mb onboard - I'm not overclocked and the system runs moderately cool.

I've tried everything. It ran fine when I first installed it but now crashes without ceremony - not just freezes - but completely closes down and restarts.

On recovery I get a message from MS suggesting video or Ram problems but I don't think so.......

Any ideas???? I'm at a loss to figure this out

Update for Painter X here which may be worth trying, to see if it solves the issue....

Or, I'd say possibly try a Re-install of the program and see if that helps?

Welcome to the madhouse, sidwellg, I hope we can help. Daz's suggestion is worth trying, I'm unfamiliar with the program so can offer no more at this stage. What version of Windoze are you running? Is it up to date?
