hypocrites
delanti - 29-10-2008 at 19:16

Bowing to the continued whining, complaining and general bitching from a number of posters about my posting on the American election thread, I made my final post on 10/27. I did not do that because I wanted to but because I really though those complaining were tired of the thread and wished it dead. I thought DW's attitude about the thread was reasonable but felt she would be relieved if the thread died a natural death.

Imagine my surprise just now when I went there only to find that the complainers themselves are still posting there. Is there a double standard for Americans and pseudo Americans? :huh)confused2

Havent followed this thread, but as with many other issues people are fickle.

Humour is the best medicine, (have you seen the size of my feet)?

Bear, are your feet in proportion to your hands?

Lets just say that I have better foundations than most garages. Bedroom slippers curtesy of Cammel Laird Shipbuilders.

scholar - 29-10-2008 at 22:56

Do you wear leather shoes, O Bear?

It seems kind of opulent to skin a whole cow just for one shoe.

delanti - 30-10-2008 at 02:11

Of course he wears no shoes Scholar. He goes Bear foot.laughy_smilielaughy_smilie

You know what they say about the size of a man's feet in relationship to OTHER parts of his anatomy.

On the down side, with big feet you have more toe to stub!!!

Regards the Bear :(

scholar - 31-10-2008 at 13:44

With respect to bumping one's toe:

For the rest of us, we hurt our toe, because the toe gives way to what we bump.

But, when the foot is more massive than the obstacle, would not the obstacle give way?

delanti - 3-11-2008 at 19:25

Bumping to the top again. I just went to the dreaded American Politics and danged if the whole crew are not still there whining, bitching, politicking and still posting. I cant believe it. Have they no morals? confused2

Dreamweaver - 3-11-2008 at 19:58

OK point taken.

I have now turned the forum off. Any political posting concerning the electios before/during or after will be moved to trash immediately.
Will that help ?

Not too sure Runny would agree with you there but "whatever"...

Redwolf5150 - 4-11-2008 at 00:22

Well, at least now I won't spend half my internet time posting The Truth to counteract propaganda.

Hats off to you lady for making a tough call that probably won't sit well with a few vocal members.

"Truth" like your outrageous denial about the pruchase of a television channel that ran promotional material all the time?nanananananananaToo bad that it was so widely reported and easily verified--anyone with Dish Network could simply turn to Channel 73 and see it for himself.:P:P:P

(No political material in this post, just a refresher to Redwolf, who seems to be confused as to who corrected whom.:D)

LSemmens - 4-11-2008 at 11:25

Does this mean we are going to have all the gloating when the votes are counted in general chat now, DW?

Mary2 - 4-11-2008 at 13:26

I think it means we don't refer to it at all.
;)
You know, a bit like that Fawlty Towers episode where Basil doesn't want to mention the war when the German tourists are staying but just can't help himself.

She said anything of a political nature would be trashed immediately.

I would take that to mean either way the election goes.

So, the day draws to a close here in the UK. The excitement of the election dissapates and we all realise it is a brand new dawn.

Good luck President-elect. I suspect that it will be both the best of times and the worst of times as every era seems to be.
