Rat as large as a car
scholar - 16-1-2008 at 00:25

So says this article

It says the specimen could have come from a rodent weighing a ton, and larger ones may have weighed 2 1/2 tons, about as large as a hippopotamus.:o:o:o:o

The trap you would have to set out. . .shocked_yellow

They have nicknamed him Mighty Mouse. greengrin

The article mentions only the skull was found. If the proportion of the body to the skull is not what they imagine, or if a very different creature had a head with similarities to a rat, it could be quite a different animal. greengrin

In Kents caverns in Torquay. Devon. England. there is the fossilized remains of a Smilodon one of species of sabre cats that where the largest ever to inhabit the Earth. I have seen it and the jaws were two feet across and the the animal was over 18 feet in length as told by the guide in the caverns the predator grew that big due to the ever increasing size of its prey, , jmb

Hope humans won't get any bigger - London underground doesn't have enough space as it is:D

No wonder I'm increasing in size. I eat popcorn, which must increase in volume by a factor of 27 when I pop it!shocked_yellow

When carnivores reach such a size they sure aren't eating mice, logic! jmb
